Attorney Maya Hoyt
Maya Hoyt is an experienced associate attorney committed to helping her clients achieve the best possible outcomes. Her work with Serious Injury Law Group focuses on car accident and trucking litigation, wrongful death, medical malpractice, and other serious injury matters. Prior to joining Serious Injury Law Group, Maya practiced for a corporate defense firm primarily defending automotive manufacturers.
Maya holds a law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science from Spelman College, where she graduated magna cum laude. As president of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) and member of the nationally-ranked BLSA Mock Trial Team, she received the Certificate in Public Interest Law and the Order of Samaritan, the highest public service award bestowed by the law school. In recognition of her lasting contribution to legal education and the law school, Maya received the Dean Thomas W. Christopher Award, which is presented annually by the UA Student Bar Association. In addition to these accolades, Maya excelled in undergraduate and post-graduate study abroad in Lisbon, Portugal, and Canberra, Australia.
Beyond practicing law, Maya enjoys traveling, cooking, listening to music, and spending time with her family and friends.
